Mrs. Vivian Jean Molho

Vivian was born on August 24, 1921 to Allan Augustus Chafe and Doris Victoria Hodges in New Westminster BC, Canada. Vivian moved to Los Angeles, Ca. with her family, mother, father, and Sister Edna around 1923. Later in life, exact date unknown, she and her family moved to Orange, Ca and attended Orange Elementary school graduating from Orange High School in 1935. She met Morrie Molho, her husband, when both were working in Laguna Beach and married in April of 1942. Vivian worked in various positions in Orange and Laguna Beach before and until her marriage to Morrie . Her first son, Allan was born in October of 1942 and her second son, Randy was born in 1945. After the war was over they settled in Orange after living for a short time in Santa Monica. Morrie worked for Macres Florist in Santa Ana and also opened a surf rider and umbrella rental stand on the boardwalk in Laguna Beach around the summer of 1947. Vivian ran the surf rider stand during the summer caring for both of her children simultaneously while working, riding to Laguna Beach each morning on the bus from Orange! While still living in Orange, Morrie and Vivian opened a flower shop in 1950 in Balboa and later another shop in Costa Mesa. Morrie and Vivian eventually moved to Newport Beach in 1953. After moving to the beach Vivian became a home maker concentrating on raising Allan and Randy and she remained living there the entire time Morrie and her were married. Later in her years she became a caregiver first to her husband Morrie during a long bout with dementia and later to her mother Doris who passed away at age 102 from pneumonia. Morrie passed away in October of 1999 at age 84. Vivian lived alone in Newport Beach until 2008 when she finally sold her home in Newport and moved to Lake San Marcos, Ca. (North San Diego county) to be closer to some of her family. She remained at her home in Lake San Marcos until her death on July 22, 2013. Vivian will always be remembered by her family as a generous, gracious, and giving person with always a positive attitude. She loved life and the people in her life as all that knew her can remember. There simply are no words to describe what a wonderful, loving, mother, mother in law, grandmother, great grandmother and friend she was, always caring about others over herself. She is survived by her sons, Allan, Randy and daughter in law Claire, grandchildren Jennifer Molho, Bridget and Brian Schmitz, and Eric Molho, great grandchildren Hailey Woods, and Makaela, and Riley Schmitz..
