Thomas Neal Thompson

Thomas Neal Thompson, 57, died at home on July 2, 2013 after a second battle with lung cancer. He was born in Santa Monica, CA on February 19, 1956 to William and Ethel Marion (Villa) Thompson. Neal grew up in San Diego, graduating from Madison High School in 1974. He married Shelley Pierce on August 30, 1975 and had two children, Jennifer Wilson and Ryan Thompson. After divorcing in 1982, he met and married Kathie L. (Storer) Moss on June 23, 1984, adding daughter, Amie to his family. They lived in Hawaii for five years while Kathie (USN) was stationed there, returning to San Diego County in 1988. Neal followed his father and grandfather in the bread business working for Fornaca Breads as a delivery man and later in sales, as Sales Supervisor for Love's Bakery in Hawaii, Plant Supervisor for Bimbo Baking Company in Escondido, and finally Director of Club Sales for Milton's Baking Company in Carlsbad. He attended classes at University of Phoenix while working for Bimbo. He retired from Milton's in December, 2012. Neal was a man of character and integrity in every area of his life. His positive attitude and warm smile drew people to him. He always made an effort to stay in contact with his many friends and family. He loved golf, fulfilling his dream of attending The Master's in 2012. Neal was a Charger fan. He played his drums for enjoyment. Neal was preceded in death by his parents and in 2008 by his wife of 24 years, Kathie. Neal is survived by daughter, Jennifer (Ron) Wilson of San Marcos, Amie (Victor) Albright of Mira Mesa, and Ryan Thompson of Vista. He has three grandchildren, Deegan Arthur Albright, Kylie Tatum Albright, and Trevor Neal Wilson. He cherished every minute he had with his grandchildren. Also by brothers, Robert (Maria) Thompson of Anaheim Hills and Patrick (Ada) Thompson of Poway. Neal spent his last 4 years enjoying life to the fullest with Sandy Smith of Clairemont. Memorial Services will be held on July 10th at Allen Bros. Mortuary in San Marcos. He will be buried with his late wife at San Marcos Cemetery. Donations may be made in his name to The American Cancer Society.
