Mr Edward Arthur Huhn

Edward Arthur Huhn went to his heavenly home after a courageous battle with cancer. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. Ed was born and raised in Queens, NY. He became a Christian at a young age through a playmate and brought his whole family to God. Ed enlisted in the Navy in 1950 and served on a tender and then traveled around the world on a destroyer during the Korean War. He graduated from Truman State University in Missouri on May 23rd 1958 with a degree in business. The very next day he married the love of his life, Donna. After the wedding Ed and Donna moved to New York City, and began both of their careers and adventures. Ed was promoted and after only two years they moved to Sacramento to open a new factory. Over time Ed became CEO and part owner of the company. The couple was blessed with two sons and Ed taught them many things, but most importantly to love God and family. His boys remember him as an involved, caring father who was a great role model. He was loved dearly by his family and he will always be missed. Ed "retired" in 1989 but continued to work as a consultant; he established a new factory in Indiana and turned around a bankrupt company. He even did volunteer consulting with domestic and international businesses as far away as Russia and Romania. Ed was generous with his time and talents and served in multiple church council positions at three Lutheran Churches in California, the hospital board in Chester, CA and at Interfaith Community Services in Escondido. He taught many people about investing and helped them to financial security. After retiring, Ed and Donna enjoyed many happy times with family and friends at their Lake Almanor home in the Sierra Mountains. They traveled all over North America in their motor home and toured and cruised all over the world. Ed is survived by his wife Donna; sons Dan (Jackie); Mark (Melissa); granddaughters Sarah and Kaylea; and grandsons Jake, Luke, and Ben. He is also survived by nephews, nieces and grand nephews and grandnieces. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Robert and Gerald. Ed will be laid to rest at Miramar National Cemetery on April 28th at 10:30 AM.
