Constance Joan Davis

Connie was born on Long Island, in Huntington, New York on October 9, 1959 to Thomas and Dorothy Fowler. She was the third child of four; she had one brother and two sisters. Her family moved to California when Connie was young, and she grew up in Huntington Beach. She graduated from Marina High School in 1977 and then attended Golden West Community College. Connie married Jesse Davis on February 27, 1982. They met while working at May Co. and were married for 31 years. They lived in Irvine, California, and then bought a house in Oceanside, California, where they resided for 24 years. They raised their two children, Matthew and Emily, in Oceanside. After working for May Co., Connie worked as a bank teller and then as a legal secretary, until she became a stay at home mom when her first child, Matthew, was born. While she was at home, she sold Discovery Toys for several years and provided daycare for kids in the neighborhood. She eventually re-entered the workforce by working in Child Nutrition Services with the Vista Unified School District. She started at Rancho Buena Vista High School and eventually moved to Lake Elementary School, where she ran the cafeteria for 15 years. Connie loved dogs and grew up with several beloved childhood pets. In the late 90s, Connie brought a puppy home for the family to raise to be a Guide Dog for the Blind. The dog, named Wynne, became a working dog for 10 years. Connie loved spending time with her current dog, Ruby, that she found in a shelter and brought home on Mother's Day in 2008. Connie was a Christian for most of her life. She rededicated her life to Christ when Jesse was baptized. She often volunteered at the various churches that they attended over the years and most recently found a home church in Calvary Chapel Oceanside. She also volunteered for organizations, such as Birth Choice, and gave countless hours to support her children's schools and educations. She was very proud of her children, who have both graduated from college and are now in their 20s. Connie was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Jesse, son Matthew, and daughter Emily, as well as her sisters Dee and Megan and brother Tom. She went to be with the Lord on July 21, 2013.
